Meant to run once the engine is turned off :? After replacing the rad and relay i got back today after doing about 20 miles turned the engine off and the fan kicked in or continued running :shock:

I think (don't hold me to this) that the fan would continue for a time afterwards in order to cool the engine, but if it's staying on continuasly then you may have a problem.

No but then my wipers carry on when they're switched off :lol:
This is an electric fan? Probably just been wired with a live feed to keep running until the 'stat says enough.

My old Rover 620 (Honda Engined) fans used to come on once the engine was switched off, ran for a couple of mins, then powered itself down.

my fan does exactly the same as i couldnt be a***d to pull the dash to bits to splice it into the feed off the back of the ignition i am guessing yours is electric you could put an over ride switch in between the feed from the battry and the thermostat i did this so that i could turn the fan off if i was going to go into deep water
