What oil does a 300tdi need?

I have an oil seal gone in the engine and it dribbles out oil out the wading plug. I will get it sorted once I move but havent got time whilst I am in this house. So for the time being I need to keep topping the oil up. I have got a £6.99 tub of 50w20 oil in my shed I bought about 6 months ago. Will this be ok for the disco?

Comma produce a semi-synthetic 10/40 or 15/40 called something like Diesel Lite which mine is happy on, and is reasonably priced. Mind you I do plan on changing the oil reasonably often so don't mind using the cheaper stuff.

Thats a pitty as I now have 5 litres of 20w 50!!  anyone got a v8 they want to put it in???

All the 15w40 and 10w 40 are expensive for the fact it is about to come back out the engine tomorrow. Oh well. It wont be as expensive as a siezed up engine!!!

I am in Reading at the moment.

I maybe in Banbury for a night on Thursday 5th July. To be honest it only cost me £6.99 so probably not worth the effort too meet up as I bet you will use more than £6.99 worth of petrol getting there!!!
