Guess who has just got them selves a new 4x4? :D  :D

Ok so that was an easy guess. Can you tell I am excited?

Have been without a 4x4 since November and has been very depressing, even to the point where I get cross with people driving them just becuase I didn't have one

Well thanks to advice from other MC members I have just purchased a 2.5 Mitsibushi Pajero and although it isn't a Land Rover (which I must admit scares me a little) It is a lovely vehicle and suits all my needs so a very happy bunny here just thinking about where to go t get muddy!!!! :D  :D  8)

Welcome back to the fold!

Since West Africa I have renewed respect for non-Land Rover 4x4s.  There's a lot to be said for the Japanese lumps!

Congratulaions is it SWB or LWB

I have had my 2.5 pajero SWB for 4 months now & I love it :D

I get some stick from LR owners :(  but we went green laning & people were surprised how well it did  the only damage was the rear fog light bracket snapped - so I took it off

The pajero is amazingly competent offroad, but hates water with a vengance. It seems a common trait amongst jap 4x4s to mount the alternator low down, fine in dry & dusty africa or the mid east, but a bit of a pain if you get it muddy or go wading:(

It is the LWB as need all the space for children and dogs etc. I have always driven Land Rovers and am a fanatic really. Will do me good to drive something else for a change.

Think of it as a Land Rover, but more comfortable

If you don't plan on doing extreme things then it will be a decent 'all-round' vehicle.

Not true in all cases, the electrics on the Vitara are mounted high up and usually manage ok in water.

Also I once owned a Shogun and took it through water nearly over the bonnet and never had any problems.
