Can anyone tell me where to find the colour code on a 300 tdi 110?

Failing that, does anyone recognise what red this is?

Cheers

You can get it matched at a paint specialist fairly easily, they will match and be able to supply the paint too, even mixing if necessary

Id badge is no longer there in that case. Looks like I'll need to get it matched. The other option is to give it a complete repaint. If thats going to be the case whats the best colour for a 110 with van sides??
Ideas are welcome

It aint rioja red because that is metallic, I would guess on that age of vehicle that it is arrow red. Red is an awful colour to match on an older vehicle because it fades so much. Even if you get the right paint code it probably wont match anyway.

Just noticed the whole list is metallic colours. The other possibility is poppy red?

Just found it!!

Comes under: Arrow Red, Portofino Red, Corallin Red LRC.390(D)

Think I'll paint the whole truck so it's the same shade all over

Whats the finish like when painted with a roller and what sort of roller is used?

Cheers

Hi guys.

I missed this post originally so I'll chip in my opinions now.

What happened was.... I think your truck is either Massai red or Arrow red. As has been previously stated, red is a nightmare to match due to it fading to pink, so a repaint is best option. I always think that even a cheap respray is better than a roller. A 110 has huge side panels and area always maginifies paint faults. Believe me, I used to inspect the things from new so I've seen my fair shre of gash 110 side panels. Willow green was the worst (shudder).

David, my guess would be Shire blue on your 110 matey.

HTH

Jez

Thanks Jez, I managed to get the colour from my chasis number at the local Landy specialist, its Portofino Red. Same code as arrow red as far as I can tell.
I got a small can made up as a spray from wilcos and went over a couple of small areas, next step is to try T cutting it. If that doesn't work I'll repaint it. I have a compressor so would only need to get a spray gun which isn't a problem. Should be quite fun

Thanks for your help guys

t cut

Hi Leigh.

Rather than T cut, which can have a very detremental effect on paint which is already faded, try Farecla G3, available from most motor factors e.g. Brown Brothers. Maybe also a polisher for your compressor? Saves elbow grease.

Glad you've sorted it.

Cheers,

Jez.

'Ta man, got your PM earlier. I thought it was Aries Blue myself but I'm known to be wrong, I'm going to need some paint soon though as I've got a couple of bits to touch up.
