Hi all!

Just noticed that if you hold my front wheel at the 9 and 3 o clock position and rock, there seems to be quite a bit of play - it seems as if the whole swivel housing is moving, whats going on there??? :?
Both wheels seem to do this...... Whats needed to fix it???? And is it easy????

Just fitted new electronic dizzy and weber carb, manifold blowing a bit and the baffles rattle in the exhaust, but we're getting there - slowly - it's the stopping that needs work - needs new master cylinder, drums etc. :-(

Still, it's a bit less bumpy with some new pair-o-[bollards]! Whoo Yeah!!  :)

Any help on the above would be greatly appreciated before summat falls off - i.e the wheel.......  :oops:

Does sound like swivel joints, get a recon axle saves hours of messing about.

Don't talk to inked raven about swivel joints - that is one i won't be doing again for him!  After that fun we have said if they need doing it is a complete recon axle.

Oh great thats all I need. It has had new swivel housings and seals, is it really a bad job to do??? Replacing the axle sounds major........

Before you dispaire to much , if it is just the pins on the swivels then it won't be to bad.  Difficult to say untill you strip it to have a look.  It may be the racal (or however you spell it) bush has gone, then it is simple.

If the lot is knackered then in my opinion it would be quicker and easier to change the axle.  Not a major job, did mine a couple of years ago on my own in about an hour.
Jack front of vehicle and sit chassi on axle stands, disconect front prop, disconect brake hoses, undo U bolts, undo front bolts on springs, axle off! refit is reverse, dont forget to bleed brakes.

paddocks do a swivle kit, everything you need for each side.
there about£70 a side, new racor(?) bush, pins, bearings,swivles.
