MOT today....
« on: July 19, 2006, 16:45:41 »
Got the 110 in for it's annual prod and poke today. Not heard from the garage, so hopefully all is well.... can't find a nailbiting emoticon!

I usually get complaints from them that it's left oil all over their floor!! I noticed the front diff pinion seal is now weeping too.... so another spot on their floor!

Got them to do the poly bushes in the A frame while they are at it. Couldn't shift the bolts for love nor money!

Fingers crossed

got the Audi, Vitara and I suspect the Pug all due in the next month
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

PASSED

Just a couple of advisories (if that's a word!).

The steering arm ball joint has play in it. It was bought ready fitted to a new arm less than 3 months ago   The quality of some products these days is dreadful. I seem to go through UJ's like they are going out of fashion too. And I'm on my 3rd clutch master cylinder in as many years.... and I always by genuine or OE spec (Lemforder, Lucas, etc).

He had a lovely time with the A frame though   Couldn't get the bolts out at all. And the bracket fixings were so corroded they weren't even hexagonal any more! Can you imagine how hot and bothered he got with a hammer and chisel yesterday???   Still, I know him well, and he's a diamond bloke who loves his Land Rovers.

He did suggest that I should use their lift and hot wash to clean the clay off the rear of the chassis. Then spray old engine oil to slow the corrosion down. Such a nice bloke. Although I suspect he just wanted to see me covered in mud and c**p this time!!
