:wink: Went off roading the other day got stuck and as a friend was towing me out I was it hi ratio diff-lock and now when I try diff-lock I get a loud clicking noise from the rear of my rangie....

Any one got a clue....

If it definitely from the rear of the vehicle, then it could be :

Rear Propshaft
Rear Diff
Rear Wheel bearing


Can you describe the sound in any more detail ?   (location, volume, type of sounds, when it happens, etc)

thanks for the input i'll pass it on to my mechanic friend

but it sound like the rear, but not 100% sure as didn't leave it in diff lock long, it's a loud click sound and feels like the motor is jumping slightly.
it clicks in a straight line or as im turning????
