Its Official - I am Apprentice of the Year
« on: July 27, 2006, 23:07:43 »
About 6 months ago my boss gave me an Apprentice of the Year Application / Questionaire, I filled it out and then I got a letter asking me to go down to the training centre because I got to the top 10 in the country for Fiat and Alfa Romeo, then Tuesday morning my boss came down to me and said he had some good news for me, i had forgotten about the Apprentice of the Year and I just thought I was getting a pay rise as I had been hassling him for one for months, he told me i had to go to a presentation evening last night where I recieved my Prize which was £700 worth of Snap-on Tools.

But our Snap-on dealer does not visit us anymore after he decided we did not buy enough from him.

unfotunatly at snap-on prices i will only get a set of spanners, a 3/8 rachet and socket set and a rachet screwdriver set as snap-on will not do me any discount for a bulk buy so it is + VAT and i will probibly be putting £25 on top aswell

Well done Ben and a belated well done to Mikee - although still can't believe you are being shafted by your current employer as you obviously must be a decent mechanic
Maybe you and Ben should get together and open the dream garage !

I am already looking at setting up a family business some where maybe northants but maybe further a field like derbyshire or yorkshire, there are a few garages for sale fully equipt around these area's. It is worth looking around on a few business sites like SBS comercial for Garages for Freehold or Leasehold

i should be qualified soon anyway so that will help

Go for it Mikee - you have nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain - same thing happened to me 20 years ago - got shafted and started my own business and haven't looked back

these are only some of them there are loads more but watch out for some, me and my dad went to look at one business and the guy wanted £50,000+SAV for the business but it was only 25% share holder
