Be very VERY aware of street robberies/pick pockets  .

I went for a job interview combined with a x7 day stay out there.... Witnessed x2 robberies on 1st day. They operate in gangs seeking out tourists, very helpful gang assisted a couple from our hotel when the husband was drunk..... all their holiday money/jewellery was gone the next morning, spent the rest of their holiday skint and went home early.

I'd advise not walking down unlit/secluded streets at night..... but it dont make any difference where you are, or whether its broad daylight  .

Keep your wits about you   and you'll be fine (i hope).

Stay in the Palma area :D ... Further south/east and your into German territory with German food uggghhh.

Palma is fine, lots of other Brits having a great time, north of the island is ok for a day trip out (if you like countryside), theres a little train that leaves from palma heading to north of island.... you can grab fresh oranges'n'lemons straight off the trees as you pass them :D .

Yeh door was open but we had view of it if we had turned around, they stole about 1000 euro's and some other stuff, we are going again in a few weeks but this time we are staying in an upstairs apartment thingy so it should be safer.

Yep... my parents villa has been targeted twice....... and only when it has people staying in it.
A lot of Morrocans go to the island soley to steal/rob.

At least now you'll be well prepared to hide things and not carry all your money around with you now

You'll have a great time as long as your aware & streetwise (which i'm sure you are).

its all about being careful with your surroundings though i suppose.

when we are in the flat we always lock the door and leave the key in the lock so even if a cleaner was on the fiddle they couldnt use the key to get the dosh, and when the cleaner IS in valuables are locked away or with us (handy having a pram as its good storage)

Take One Switch Card Each ( Cahs Machines Everywhere And ItsThe Same As Here ) and 2 Credit Cards If You Have Them, Hide One Really Well, Draw 2 Days Cash At a Time and Hide Some With The Other Credit Card...... Carry One Switch And One Credit and say 50EUR

I have a holiday card (credit) with £ 350 limit..... register you cards with someone like SENTINEL part of RBS costs me about £25 a year to register all cards (mine and hers) if a wallet is nicked I make one call to them and they do everything else and offer insurance too

Last time i was in Majorca (2 yrs ago) a meal for 3 with more than enough Sangrai / lager etc was about £ 35.

We went Alloc on arrival and stayed in C'an Picafort... if you end up in the north rent a car.... Not Hippo Rental!! mind you the Punto made a comfy Offroader.

Nice Bays in the south near the water park if you have a car!

we had a safe in our hotel room and got to choose our own pin number for it, so our money, passports etc were all in there. Didnt come across anything bad during our stay, had a lovely time!
