90 fuel tanks
« on: July 31, 2006, 22:37:19 »
My C reg has a tank under the drivers seat with a filler cap just in front of the rear wheel.  I've seen later 90s with a filler behind the rear wheel.

I'm basically looking to do a twin tank conversion and wondered if there were other tanks that woudl fit in somewhere without too much hassle.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Matthew

The TD5 has a rear mounted tank.
I think the biggest problem is things like the silencer-box and the stays for the rear tow-hitch (if you have a DB type that is). Affter all anything can be made to fit but first you need to look under your vehicle and see how much space you have. Certainly with the standard 300TDi exhaust there is no room for that set-up and a straight system would be required.

you could always fit another tank under the passengers seat and have the filler inside or in the battery tray  :?

fitted a long range tank to a 300 tdi 90 which involved fitting atank that was shaped to go under the battery box & slope from the chassis upwards to the bottom of the sill
