got this horrable squeel from wot sound like a belt or pump. is there a comon prob or i just the only one, only happens for about 5 mins of driving or till engine warmed up, Its gets louder the faster the engine revs :oops:

from your avatar i guess you got 2.8?
you havnt got cam belt so thats a +, probably alternator belt or one of the others, at worst it could be your water pump or alternator, start with belts, check for cracking of belts also, do you know when it was last serviced.

i only bought it 2 months ago the garage said it was done then but i not 100% about that. the oil is a bit watery

if you aint 100% sure its been serviced, then get it done. I was told mine had been " fully serviced" ( my arse). its the only way to be sure

you meen there is water in the oil? or its thin?
if it was from a dealer take it back and get them to check it.

depends on the grade they put in, and to be fair it does go black almost straight away. As i said before the only way to be 100% sure is have it changed again, along with the A/T oil, and check your diff oils and fuel, and air filter while your at it. Least then you have got a starting point for your servicing regime oh, and bung some injector cleaner in, it makes all the difference

i shall do that got all the filters on the way and some castrol gtd oil to put in it but like u said earlier it could be the belts,might have to get new set any mail order places u know of,which are cheap, but good quality

If the belt is causing the squeak, just hold a bar of soap against the inside running side of the belt with the engine running, but watch your fingers. We do it a lot here as the heat drys the belts out very quick :D

a squirt of wd does a similar job to stop belts squelling for short periods.
And you can keep your fingers too :lol:
