Has anybody got any advice for me on fitting a snorkel to my vitara?  Im open to suggestions of either home made or to buy a kit.

I went for the easy expensive option and bought a Safari off Ebay.

Been smacked, cracked by trees and belted loads of times and the Safari one hasnt given up yet. Its a soft plastic that not going to crack or shatter, it'll just deform.

Even survived a close encounter with a milkfloat that the wing didnt :)
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

Ive been told that the location of my air filter / air box is in an unusual position and so would make it difficult to easily fit a snorkel to my vitara.....could anybody take a look at the pictures and give me some advice?? (ive added them in my gallery, as there too big to add to the forum)

It looks like your airbox still draws air from inside the nearside wheel arch so I can't really see a problem with fitting a snorkel to this model. Remove the wheel and plastic wheel liner and see if you can see where the inlet is positioned.

Be aware that it is a B***ard of a job drilling through the wing, I used a small drill and a fine saw on mine.

Regards,

Mark.

same place as mine.
it goes into the inner wing up by the door piller.

take the box out from under the wing and drill through by the door piller.
or copy the safari template for hole location.
want modification bits for your suzuki.

Here's another one (on my mate Andy's Vit). Osma downpipe & a couple of right-angle bends. I think it cost him less than a score! (& it does the job).

Check out those cut down fat boy arches too!

Look in my gallery. It was a sinch with the Safari, not neat but the bulk of the lower box hides a lot of sins :)
