I have a 97 Diso MK1, Aprox Val £5000 1.5" life and bull bars. 3 yrs no clames bonus. No convictions or points bla bla. I am 23. Limited Millage to 5000, Want fully comp.

Sureterm Direct quoted me £580

Adrian Flux £650

I have called a few other companies who quoted much higher.

The £580 seems quite good. What do you think, what other companies should I try? Anyone know about Sureterm?

Thanks

read the smallprint as to what you are getting for your money.
I found once that the reason one company was cheaper was they didnt include the guaranteed no claims or bussiness use I asked for.

The worst part about it is if lancaster didnt want to insure me why didnt they just say

The advantage with Adrian Flux, is, if you begin to modify it, they'll continue to insure you. Others won't!

Just got my renewel quote for the disco from Liverpool Vic, £280, gone up another 30quid  , went up 15 quid last year :? , looks like I will be looking round too next week

When I got the insurance for the Meriva, with no no claims for it, I got it down to 300, with Hyperformance 3 months ago.

They took into account the limited mileage on the meriva, also I have the disco on the road and the hybrid, my age and max no claims on the disco.

They said get back to them when the disco runs out, as a figure they quoted 235 for the disco 3 months ago. Looks like another call to them on Monday

Good fun innit

ive just renewed my insurance with snowball insurance
they were very competitive and their policy covers off road use , even for pay and play sites ( i checked this several times )
they didnt want additional premium for minor suspension lifts ( under 2" ), winch bumpers or snorkels.
give them a try i dont know if they have a website but they can be contacted on 0800 6942145

i hope this is off help
cheers
phil

Ive got a 95 M-reg disco, 22 yrs old, no notifiable mods (yet) and 3yrs no claims (no points, claims, etc), 12,000 miles a yr.

I was quoted £598 with Adrian Flux, and if I do mod it they'll be happy to still insure me.  Sureterm rang me just after I renewed with A.F. and had a price promise, and beat A.F (got it down to about £530), like-for-like (inc off-road cover, foreign use, towing, etc...)

Lancaster gave me a silly quote and refused any mods. Some would accept some mods but not suspension, etc.  A lot of the specialists who advertise in the 4x4 mags are fine if you are over 25.

Incidently, Sureterm estimated that for me to put a 2inch lift, bigger tyres and HD bumpers would be less than £100 extra.

So all in all your quotes in the £500-600 bracket seem quite reasonable.

Nat

We were with nowballs for the first year, I have a nice collection of covernotes to prove it!  We had someone run into the car during that year and I'm still waiting to be paid out.  I was with Firebond for the 2 years after that, but they were particulary unhelpfull with Julie's car so I moved all my business to Adrian Flux.  Very helpfull, though I agree that with a standard car you need to shop around, Julie's got cheaper there but RRR (sister's car) got more expensive :?

Good Deal or what, I live in Clacton on sea in Essex.

thanks for all the info guys, so far my best quote is with "The Policy Shop Insurance Services Ltd" they have quoted £545 but they wont put anything in writing so that does not give me a warm feeling. Sureterm would only insure if the vehicle was kept off the street over night. I only found this out when I asked for the quote in writing.

I had the same issue with them, phoned them up but they said they couldn't do anything about it. Went on their website and got a new quote - ended up 50 quid less than the renewal! :?

Tried the net route with Liverpool vic, didn't work, hyperformance couldn't do it, in the end I got f/c protected n/claims, on 8k miles a year with whistles and bells extras, for £204, from sureterm, after playing them off with a adrian flux

This is for a stretched disco, they were happy with the vehicle being like this too. ALso a second driver on it too

Get a couple of good quotes and play them off, I started at 250, it went down to 175, but I needed a few extras and settled on 204, the lowes I've got for the machine in 3 years
