On this subject....Can 200tdi (Disco) shocks & springs be replaced by '90'ones? Not too bothered about lift at the moment, but I'd like to lose a bit of the sag/roll under load

In a word NO as the disco is considerably heavier ! The 90 springs will fit but thats all. It will handle worse than now !!
90 and defender are 2 different models and its the springs the vehicle sits on.The shocks take the bounce out !Most 90 springs and shocks will be a little tired by now whereas a defender set could well be only days old but either way the disco is considerably heavier and would sit a lot lower due to its big ar5e !
Well having checked with factory specs the 90 weighs 1795kgs (3729lbs) and the disco weighs 1900kgs (4375/9 lbs)200 kgs is a fair weight difference and as stated an old set of 90 springs will be quite tired and are NOT the same spec as 110 being a different size for one and having to support 20" less chassis let alone vehicle.A 90 has ally tub/floor and roof . A disco has 10" more chassis, steel floor and steel roof + a huge overhang acting as a counter balance affecting the load on the rear springs. :? Guess you have added some weight to your racer to put 200 kgs on it over factory :? In answer to the original question 90 springs/shocks will fit but I would order a set of disco ones as a minimum if not slightly uprated to improve on road handling. :)
