Heat sheild.....
«
on:

I have just ripped off a heat sheild from the middle box on my 1994 V8 as it was nop longer fixed in place and just sat on top of the box rattling away and as Im just about to go for a MOT thought it might be wise to take it off to give them less to worry about!
Do I need to get a new? does it do something major? from what I can tell it stops the floor from geting warm! Can anyone tell me why it was fitted in the first place? Land Rover must have a reason for puting it there..... is it a good enogh one to warrant geting a replacement?
Thanks all
Jonny

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

The sheild stops heat soak into the cab, especially when stationary. I don't think it's a fire hazard though, just as well, you can't buy that stuff anywhere I asked
