It used to be one of the bragging points about the old v8, you would be very hard  done by to break the crank, as its over engineered for a 5 litre american engine

My mate's got a Chimera (I think) 430 and that spins the wheels coming out of the garage, it's awesome :D

Funny that site makes NO mention of the Range Rover classic, spiritual home of the V8, nor the 4,275 engine from the LSE on which the TVR 430 is based.

It does now!

P.S. I've been for a ride in Chris Crane's (of RPi) 5.2L Range Rover, and it's performance is startling.  It should be for what that lump costs, too.

I drove that car to Billing the year after the 5.2 went in, even running on LPG the acceleration was astounding.

Was that the green one that was built for Clarkson to 'race' V B-H??

I saw it at Billing & more importantly, heard it

No the Clarkson car was not road legal, it was the silver Range Rover 5.2/LPG demonstrator I drove to Billing. That was the year of the infamous LRO fashion show. Every time the show started we made a point of starting the Clarkson can and drowning them out, the RPI stand was just behind the stage. The SDI was built as an English muscle car for a Clarkson video and was terrible to drive, very quick in a straight line but didn't do corners at all well. Didn't stop too well either.

I notice no difference on LPG now with the multi point in.  If I fit an ignition processor to remap it in LPG it may actually be faster

They sell those in B&Q, they're for burning your rubbish in and making burnt jacket spuds (aren't they?). Was going to buy one myself but bought a barbeque instead!
