When i accelerate i can feel a vibration through the whole car, i also occasionally get a clunk, the vibration feels like a UJ on a propshaft but it doesn't vibrate when the vehicle is rolling without any throttle. I have tried to move the propshafts with my hand and can't feel any olay in the UJ's. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem is?

Keep me informed as this is the same thing I have with my Disco and everyone thinks its the prop shaft so far.  My clunk feels like its from the steering but apart from the box needing an overhaul sometime its all OK.

Have you tried to let the veh go in neutral as well at speed to see if the vibration is still there?

It is with mine!

UJ wear will always cause more vibration under load.

When you check for UJ play, is it with the vehicle on the ground? You should check for wear with the shafts in their 'as used' angle.

Try checking both the output bearings on the tranfer box - that can produce a really irritatin' buzz.

Whats the difference between an iritating buzz and a vibration that feels like you will develop RSI?

yeh the whole car wobbles like a vibrating chair, gonna give everything a big checkover soon but i am away this weekend so it will have to wait.

Good question!  :wink:

On the ol' Eeyore 'Landy Shakiness Scale' (or LSS), lets say a buzz is a higher frequency thing makes your fingers go numb as you hold the steering wheel; a vibration is a lower frequency noise that shakes your innards and rattles your fillin's more.

Any help?  :?

Does that make my Suzuki suspension a VLFIOR? (very low frequency internal organ rearranging). Combined with a solidly mounted transfer box, believe me, I *know* about vibrating cars  :lol:

Just had a thought...... when it comes to organ donation they are never going to find half of them because they will all be in my legs  :lol:
