disco 200tdi into 2.5td 90 glow plug wiring
« on: August 28, 2006, 20:35:31 »
We are putting a disco 200tdi into my bro in laws 90 which has a td in it at the moment.

The question is about how to wire up  the glow plugs so that its all automatic like a normal tdi rather than the old 'manually timed' way on the ignition key.  We have kept the loom and the relay, but on the disco there were four wires on a multiplug which go somewhere I assume to control it?

Any ideas?

thanks Stefan,

that look s nothing like the relay I got off the disco

I hope i have took the right one - it was the one on the bulkhead with the heavy black/yellow  glow plug wire going to it.

Dave,

I always thought the relay was a standard part across the range. I ordered the part number on Nick's website along with the wiring loom and it was fine. I couldn't get the glow plug to dash loom though, they seem impossible to get hold of, so I made my own up to connect to the ignition and warning lamp.
