clutch
« on: September 03, 2006, 20:59:18 »
this morrning out with family when as we were coming upto some traffic lights the clutch peddle went down ferther than normal.
next set of lights and no clutch at all.
stoped in a side road and tryed bleeding it but no change, had to drive 25 miles home with no clutch half of it was through town.no fun at all, had to stop at lights and use low box and  start it in gear.
so has anyone any ideas could it be the slave cylinder needs servicing
as there was plenty of fluid it the master cylinder .
and nothing went bang it just faded away and wont come back.

if it's not the hydraulics i'd suspect the clutch fork, though if you change that you may aswell replace the clutch at the same time,

sorry but hope it helps

after the slave, undo carefully the shuttle that locates onto the fork arm. press the pedal, slowley and see if the shuttle moves enough. if it does you know the hydraulics should be ok...but do it slowley!!!!

if ok thats ok grab a torch and look into where it locates see if the retaining clip is ok on the fork, if thats ok you probabily have a bent fork, which is common or the clutch itself

Same happened to mine last year. Fork arm broke. So while the box has to come out I put a new clutch in as well. Good Luck.

when my slave gave up the ghost, the pedal stayed fixed to the back of the footwell and the fluid had exploded onto the road!

I wish this project would just hurry up and finish!

But I don't think it will if I keep making simple mistakes
