Stiff shifter
« on: September 03, 2006, 22:34:49 »
My shifter on my hybrid is VERY stiff due to water and mud sitting in the silver box.

Tried WD40 and now diesel left in it for a week and its better but still very very stiff.

Anyone any other ideas to free it up????

Drop the oil, the whole box may well be full of [PooPoo].

Try a lube additive, slick 50 is known to work.

There is also a linkage outside the silver box at the same height about 4" back.  Lying underneath its on the LH side try spraying WD in that area then after a few days get a hand full of grease and rub it all over
