Family Tax Credit (again)
« on: September 14, 2006, 15:25:53 »
I want to know if anyone can beat this.

We have had 16 (yes SIXTEEN) letters in the past 2 days
(edit: Just found another one that was just addressed to Karen that makes SEVENTEEN)

Non of them agree with each other

One says we owe them £800 but they will pay us £40 a month anyway (which they did) and another says we owe them £1600 :!:

Another says they payed us £96 per month last year (which they didnt) and gives the wrong sort code for the bank account, but they got it right for the one payment (last month) that we have recieved in 3 years. To prove we never got it we will have to provide bank statments for 2 years at £5 a shot from my bank which they will not remburse (I have about half of them but they dont know that).

This is doing my friggin head in. Anybody know any good solicitors that can sue the ass off them. I cant think of anyother route, even our MP gets stonewalled by the [edit]. CABs advice was to "write to them and explain the situation" ....ahahahahah... [Edited] do they think we have been doing for 12 months.

OK, I am off to find their office and burn it down. Preston isn't to far away.
Bring back the married allowance at least that worked

No offence meant , but things like this should be kicked into touch , why tax at source just to give it back. Too many benefits being handed out willy nilly  in my opinion. The whole system wants scrapping , tax people (if they have to) at source in relation to there earnings , the government is just playing Robin Hood in the 21st century......  This is my opinion..

Just sent them a cheque for last years. No doubt they'll get all confused and try and credit us or something equally as silly.

Had a bit more time to go through it.

The first letter is an appology for screwing up and being late and explaining how to complain. dated the 5th of september

The next 8 are their attempts to put things right but they still got a lot wrong (I havn't been self employed for 4 years now for instance). dated 6th

The next 8 completly changed back to all the old figures and is a complete screw up. dated the 7th

The lot dated the 6th were marked as 'final' whilst the lot marked 7th were marked as 'provisional'. We know from past experiences of similar that 'provisional' that are dated after the 'final' ones superceed them :!:  :!:  :!:  :!: Go figure that one out. Oh yeah, you cant appeal against 'provisional' decisions   :?

I agree, bring back the married allowence, it was much easier to administer and we, as a family, were better off under it.
