The little Vacuum pipe??
« on: September 16, 2006, 21:42:04 »
Does anyone know what the small pipe that tee's off the vacuum pipe on a 200Tdi Disco goes??

Mine split this week and i lost my brakes. I cut it back and pushed it back on and is now fine.

Question is. This small pipe goes throught the bulkhead on the nearside of the engine bay, and i wondered what it connects too.

Cheers Wayne.

I believe its to do with the heater unit, its a pain and can be a regular thing, the pipe is useless

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

It may be different but on my RR the other pipe goes to the foot brake. It cancels the cruise control when you touch the brakes. There should be another pipe that connects to the vacuum pump.

It operates the air reculrculation flap on the heater.  IIRC (not guaranteed) it uses vacuum to close the flap.
