GOT IT......

Finally got myself a long awaited 110. She's a 1990 2.5 diesel with 120K, taxed and mot'd, and doesn't seem to be in bad shape, I paid £1700.
Can any one give me any info on converting the body to a pick up? I plan on keeping the front and rear seats just losing the bench seats. I've seen pics some of you hav sent in and plan on this to be my first project!!
Can I use the rear body which is on it now and cut to the necessary adjustment? Any info you can give me would be much appreciated, full instructions would be better!! Haha. I'm planning to do as much of the work as poss myself!! :?
Hope you can help, Thanks.
P.s Still got the Discovery and running fine after doing the head gasket and P-gasket...

110 SW BODY MOD, HELP!
«

Yep it's the 110 SW, I've looked all over the net for somone who may have posted details of such a project but can't find anything. I would like as much info and details as poss before starting!!
As far as I can see it's a matter of removing the rear top, cutting and re-joining the roof to the front roof panel and tidying things up from there??
Anyone with info, please help!! Cheers. :)

:D Sounds a good excuse for a pint to me ada!!
Really want to get started, but they say patience is a virtue. Suprised theres not much info about on the project though, and really don't want to pay through the nose for a professional conversion when I'd enjoy and take great care doing the job myself.

Do you want a crew cab pickup or a normal? If you want a normal one you may run into issues being that your 110 currently has 5 doors, which I assume means you would be needing to source a new tub.
Would the simpliest option not be to purchase a truck cab back window, and then cut your roof down to size? Not sure myself as I've never taken much interest in a project as such, I quite fancied doing 5dr + Van Sides but never got round to it.
Cheers,
David.

The 2 parts you needs most are the hardest to get. You need the roof and the lower bulkhead. The bulkhead comes fron a Hi-Cap 110 or a 127/130. These are very hard to find and cost quite a bit. Same goes for the roof.

I STILL WANT TO DO IT!

Cheers all,I still plan on doin it but looks a little more complicated than I first thought. It is the 5 door pick up I want to convert it to, like the one in the link apart from I want to keep the shape of the back wings as they are now if you know what I mean...
Still think I could cut the original roof down to re-join at the seam above the driver/passengers heads, would I have to use an original lower bulk head or have one done the same pattern etc?
Thanks for the response again all, hope some one e-mails me soon with an instruction booklet!! Haha.....
