One-Ten at work today.

I think it's the first one I think I've seen of that particular specification :?

Images to follow later this evening, as I left my camera in my locker at work
(will call for it when I pick 'Small-Child' up from After-School Club)

Even better, it's got a Hospital staff parking permit in it, so I left a note with my pager number.

Okay...................

There's been 51 views & no guesses.

So here's the main picture, as I said I don't believe I've seen one before (that I've known about)

Now, that is unusual.  :-k
It came out of the factory like that, and on an 'A' plate too.
I've seen 'Y' plate 110's that have the normal setup, sure it's not a prototype?

Correct. Part-time 4WD was available on the very first 110's (they also used the old 2.25 motors until the 2.5 was available) and FWH's were a factory option.
The earlier ones you have seen with perm 4WD might have been V8's? Sure they weren't 4-cyl vehicles with part-time 4WD but were not fitted with FWH's?

Rumour has it that a few years later someone bought up a job lot of new 110 FWH's to sell to Series owners but then found out that the hubs / splines were different and they wouldn't fit anything else.
True or urban myth?

Ohh it's one of those rare factory prototype 110's that used the selectable 2WD / 4WD aller series stylee.

Being on a A plate it must have been registerd quiet late by the factory when it was released. As my mate has an A plate 110. that used to be a 2.5 petrol with standard LT77 LT230R setup.

Other features is the two peice front doors.

It has indeed got Free Wheeling Hubs, & selectable 4wd was an option with the 2&1/4 engines initially offered.
It was quickly dropped as no-one really bought any.

I've got a sales brochure down in the snug for this, featuring lots of lovely brown Countys :D

It's not very good, but here's a photo taken through the window of the transfer lever

Hmm, thats interesting to see.  Ive got a old 110.. reg A382 WET, it has free hubs on front 2 1/4 petrol, but the transfer leaver comes out by the hand break leaver... ive started to do some resurch on it... also got a Y reg 110 Hi cap which looks to of had the same arrangement but has had a rubbish TDi installation in it with the perm four wheel drive installed etc....

Gonna be my winter resto project.. thought a early 110 would be a nice change from series vehicles  :)
be warned the curley haired one is here !

Guy i knew at collage, had a pre production prototype 110, but had put a perkins diesal lump in it but his had a R/R box init to which he fitted an overdrive to account for the slow diesal, it even had headlight washer jets on it.
