Anyone tell me what size the nuts are on the rear prop shaft going on to the brake unit, Defender 90 on F plate, it's not 14mm  :oops:

And I'm guessing I need an imperial set of spanners now as well.. :wink:

They're 9/16th's on my Disco - the generic prop shaft socket that Difflock and others sell is 9/16th too so I'd say they're all 9/16!

14mm will go on, but its a bit of a struggle - much easier with a 9/16.

Was 9/16 on my SerieesIII and is 9/16 on my 90.   I even have a 9/16 spanner with a bit ground off of it to make it possible to get a full 1/4 turn on the nut without having to reverse the spanner!

I'm usually amazed when I find 2 bolts the same in it, so it's a wise choice.

Guys at Safari Engineering just used a 9/16 on a wobbly to get mine off  :wink:

I brought one of those propshaft tools, and cant recomend them enough, although can be done with short sockets n wobblies ect, its easy just to use a dedicated tool for the job, so reckons me anyhow
TD5 with a few Tweaks ;o)
a bit more fuel friendly than the V8
