After a Hobgoblin or three  my wonderful husband and I <hic> were watching the preview for "Layer Cake" in which a rather nice Defender was featured.

This was after we'd watched "Dirty War" in which we hoped the terrorist bomb was NOT in the white van parked next to the spotless Defender 90.

(We guessed it wouldn't be because the Landy was too new for the BBC to afford it.)

Anyway, it made us realise we play the "Land Rover Film Game" and scream "LAND ROVER!" whenever we see one in a film - its that bad the kids were disgusted when in the second Tomb Raider film, they realised she wasn't driving one (the cow!).

Anyway (again), we thought our favourite, ultimate, bestest Land Rover film EVER is...

DOG SOLDIERS!

Does anyone else do this, or are we just very, very sad? :?

Let's not forget Judge Dredd here.

I've actually seen one of the taxis from the film, and they're beasts.  Well, you can't really expect anything else from a vehicle based on a 101, can you?

The only reason I bought the DVD was to have a look at the 110. Imagine how upset I was, to wait nearly the whole film, to see a Jeep [-(
OK, OK, so Anglina, I watched it for her too 8)

I can go one better than that Pritch   I've actually driven one of those Taxi's out of the Drudge dread film   :!:

The garage where I work used to own one for 'promotional' purposes . It was a pig to drive with just a small tinted window to look through and to get in you either climbed in through a hole in the floor or roof  :o  It wasn't road legal so we had to trailer it everywhere.

I think they paid over 7 grand for it and is was a piece of junk

James Bond films must be amongst the most prolific users of LR products, examples;
'Living Daylights'? (Timothy Dalton) had the skydiving 90

'The World Is Not Enough'
NAS 90's for King Petroleum
Range Rover 6-door stretch (with unuseable centre doors - seats turned round to suit the script)

The Avengers (& New) also had a variety of Range Rovers from time to time, as well as the gorgeous Bentleys & the XJ12Coupe (& the gorgeous Tara King)

Richard A Thackeray
Defender 110Td5 'Heritage Gone, but not forgotten
Jaguar XKR; X88 JLT, also 'gone, but not forgotten'

Yorkshire Born & Bred, and proud of it.

He he, glad to know we're not the only sad gits and we keep good company!

How cool would that be to drive one of the Judge Dredd vechicals! ...  Still smarting over that fillm TBH - was a massive 2000AD Fan in my youth...

We saw one of the Lara Croft edition Landies, was awesome. But Impractical, I'd never dare go 4x4'ing in it, and would constantly nag the kids about crisp packets/mud I'd be too precious with it, rather than enjoy driving it!

Dog soldiers is one of my Favourite films.
