must admit to liking VWs had quite a few of them.

I have just got a new company car and opted for a golf GT tdi 170 - couldn't have the proper GTi due to the company lease values, but I am almost glad I didnt get it because the TDi with the new 170bhp engine in it is well quick, and gets 45mpg.

Heres my old one, affectionatly known as Lumpy. If you'd have heard the idle note you'd have understood !

He was one of the highest powerd mk2 16v's in the country, sadly tin worm ate away at him. A newer shell sits in my garage awaiting some free cash and time, also a set of throttle boddies to make him much faster so fingers crossed !

We have four Dubs atm mk1 gti in lhasa green (for sale sadly) a pea green mk1 1.1 runing a 1.8 20valve engine on twin 45 carbs, a Oak green late plate mk2 16v and the above mentioned Lumpy !

Local breakers has an S3 1.8T engine and ECU up for £600 Silly milage on it, sure he said only just had its first service before the guy killed it. Might have a Tip box on it too :D PM me and I'll get his details for you.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

I had a yellow GT beetle as well!

... and a 1302s

Will have to dig out a few pics

Intended to restore both but ended up selling them half finished on ebay. Thought they'd be stripped for parts but i recently found out they've both been restored  :D

One day i'll have to get an oval and whack a huge t4 in it!
