problem with indicator / hazard warning tell tales
« on: October 14, 2006, 14:56:13 »
I dont have any!  When I indicate, i get one quick flash from the tell tale (and the trailer one) and then no more.  My hazard switch doesnt flash either? Now I am tempted to just run new ones and tape them to the dash for the MOT but thought I would ask see if anyone had seen it before 1st?

Also, whats the best way to run new ones.  I have found the feed to the indicator tell tale one at the flasher unit.  But what about the hazard? this light  is currently built into the switch...

I thought I could run two new ones off the back of the stalk and that way they will both flash when the hazards are on?  Am I wrong?

I might have to run them from the indicator bulbs at this rate!

Anyone have early disco haynes manual, understand wiring diagrams better than me and 10 minutes to spare on msn?  :D:D

Bloody land rovers ... ;)

easy thing to do check the bulbs in dash make sure its not loose/blowen failing that could be the flasher relay iirc as the dash bulbs are feed from that

I checked te bulb and checked the feed from the flasher unit / relay.  I think its something to do with someone botching in te towbar wiring before i bought it.  I have just run 2 LEDs to the back of the stalk and stuck them on the side of the pod with all the clocks in.  They flash together when the hazards are on.  That should pass an MOT but it doesnt exactly look nice!

Of course! :D I didnt cut the wires at the back of the stalk completely just joined into them.

Me thinks that is the least of my wories anyway.  See the considering breaking thread in the bar!

Cheers,

Mike
