Anyway what's the difference between your new (second-hand one) and the old standard one you've just taken off  :?:

Thicker steel  :?:

See you now have no end caps and the front valance has gone but what is the difference between your bumper and standard LR ones  :?:

Before you do give B&J Radiators at Little Hulton a try 0161 7996210
I had a rad for the Punto from them, and it was about the cheapest I could find.
Cheers

  how?
i've got the adapter now and it lifts really sweetly. even a girlie can do it...

and how come 6 hours?
took hubbs and me that to take the old one off and then fit the new one and steering guard.
Mind you, the latter strained his back. (nuffin to do wiv me mate!)

recovery eyes? have you fitted extra ones, the swivel kind? My steering guard has two very meaty eyes so I havn't bothered with extra ones.
cheers! 8)

from what i remember

the steering guard wasnt made exactly right (isnt long enough to reach the steering box bolt and the other side's bolt

it would fit after a lot of work with a normal bumper.. BUT the HD bumper is thicker so tried to use hi lift to squeeze the bumper brackets closer so it would fit.. hence the bent top bracket

ah, now I see.
actually my steering guard didn't quite fit either but was only a milimetre or two out so wellied it in. hence simon's back strain.
cheers! 8)
