Rear door storage

I am thinking of taking the insides out of the subwoofer in the back door, plating over the speaker grill , cutting a hole in the top to make a storage pocket like the one next to it has any one done this?

Why not get another pocket and mount it next to the one there. I have seen it done somewhere, you might have to shorten it though.
Cheers.
