Just to echo the earlier post, I need to know if I can fit 235/85/16's to a Disco 1 with a 2" lift without having to cut any arches etc.

They may well fit but for safety you ideally want a 9 or 10" wide rim, with a 7" wide rim you stand the chance of them rolling off when cornering etc.

cheers Chris, i may well stick with the setup i've got them.Was just watching a set of alloys on ebay off a 300tdi and it got me thinking as i will need to think about replacing my tyres in a few months and thought about going up to that size but might just get another set of 235/85 16's instead

slightly different sizes but i have 255/70/r16's on a 3dr 200tdi disco, pulls really well off the line and didn't notice any difference in the acceleration off the line since i changed to them after having 235/85/r16's but then I tweeked the injector pump so its a lot faster now, btw i have them fitted to 7 x 16" mods and they make the ruck a bit more spongy but I have hammered them round corners ok without em falling off!!

Also If they will fit would they fit when mounted on Modular rims (7x16) with a 30mm offset?

Just read your post.  Looks like 235/70/16 MT it is then.  Will they still fit if mounted onto 7x16 modular rims with 30mm offset (compared to standard steel rims)

Can I ask if a 245/70R16 will go on a 300tdi with no mods. The link at the top of the page says no mods, only mods required to rear wheel arches if its a 245/75.
Only asking as the new tyres I have bought compared to my old ones are larger, much larger :shock:

No, you will have to trim the rear wheel arches. I have 31x10.5R15 BFG's on mine and the rear wheels catch badly.

What would be the largest tyres i can fit on standard alloys on my 200Tdi Disco  with,

Standard

1"  Suspension lift

1" Suspension lift and 1" body lift

1" Suspension lift 2" body lift.

Yes as this is a standard size for the Disco (usually fitted on steel wheels) and is only 1-2 mm difference in diameter to a 235/70 which is of course the other standard size. The width of course is 30mm narrower than a 235

My set of "road" wheels have 235/70's with a 205/80 as the spare (I think of it as no different to a space saver spare)

will 235/85/16`s in chunky MT mode fit, as the same size AT`s lok a little close (+2" suspension lift fitted and trimmed, correction arms/bushes fitted)

Don't get no problems with rubbing

For what it's worth, I have 33/12.50/15s on my disco... heavily cut back arches front and rear, and they protrude about 2" from the sides ( borderline legal ) and with a 2" lift and extended stops I have no problems until I tow or have a heavy load...in which case they rub on occasions... on full lock they catch the radius arms, which is to be expected... They look cool but I wish I'de gone for a smaller size...

odd size, but they are listed by colway.... the imperial equiv is 31 x 10.5 R16
