hi all i presume this is the best place to post this question,

ok a good friend of mine has a,2.4 ssrx diesel
on a j plate,
its a manual transmition
he has just replaced the engine recently and mot'd it
he has managed to seize the engine (i don't know the full details how though)
so far he has spent over £3800 on it and now has a usless truck.
he has a few possibilities

1 Is there an alternative engine that will bolt up to the manual box?
2 has anyone got a 2.4 diesel engine in gwo they want to get rid of?
3 should he sell it to make some money back?
4 he has threatened to s.c.r.a.p it
i told him s.c.r.a.p it at my house lol

so can anyone help him please

If your mate has a computer I'd suggest he directs his questions here:

There are several Surf mechanics on the forum. I would also definately contact Tony at 4x4Toys:

if the rest of the motor is sound, definatley look for a new engine, the 2.4 TD is apparently prone to head problems, is there any chance of a warrenty on the new engine he had fitted?

apparently after several exchanged words the supplier has agreed to refund the cost of the engine in full(not the cost of fitting though) so he has decided to take it off the road and fix it using both broken engines, by building one decent one.

Often thought what I would do if the engine went in my Smurf, I'd probably chuck a Lexus V8 in and a huge LPG tank underneath where the spare hides.
