To keep Byways (open to all Traffic - BOATs) for use by walkers, horse riders and essential farm traffic ONLY. These are not the place for high powered mechanised vehicles. This effects Byways throughout the entire British Isles. Your quiet walk in the countryside could be endangered by a driver of a 4x4 intent on putting his/her car through its paces.

Not biased at all of course!!!!

Done and popped it on roadcrew (well going to)
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

Im all for "responsible use of the Byways" just because I drive a 4x4 on it does not mean I am being “irresponsible.”

It seems some of their campaign is based around "The dangers" of 4x4's
My brother is a 4x4 enthusiast as well a enjoying walking! strange mix hey, but not so, I like my walking as well as driving a Green lane, or getting muddy in a quarry.
However it was walking that put him in hospital when he broke his leg! not while driving a green lane.

Sorry their logic is lost..............
If want to walk it walk it, if you want to ride it ride it just leave me alone to drive it!

160 to 4, but its been "Hidden pending moderation". If you read the ones who have voted in support then you will see thay 2 of the supporters are actually opposed to it. So its 162 to 2 :D .

Some of you may not know this but CRAG`s membership officer is a walker :D .

Yep, one said he'd voted in sympathy as there was only one vote for

Also I emailed the moderators saying the campaign had broken their ruling i.e the campaign is objectionable (Arousing disapproval; offensive) and based on assumptions rather than facts. They emailed me back at 23:21 saying their house rules were not breached but I also noticed it was "Hidden pending moderation"
