Did it with my works van, always used the same car park, barrier was always the same height, but forgot the fact the I had emptied the van to collect some stuff.

Took the whirly air vent thingy clean off!!!! Van was sitting a good 2" higher!!

Boss saw the funny side of it, which was good!!

One of the reasons the P38 had am access mode in the EAS, so you could get it in a garage.

We went to Meadowhall and I dont have a lift or anything except I am runnin on 750s. Well Johnty was driving my 90 and he went charging in and all we heard was this massive band and then all this noise and I though o C%&^* he's bust me aerial off............. parked up and it was still there and intact but I made sure he was more careful on the way out!

I have a similar problem with my Disco. It will still go to multistory car parks, but I have to remember to remove the CB aerial.

Watched one of our ambulances comming back one night,  nice brand new Crusader. Unbeknownst to the driver the council had put in barriers during the day. Tore off the light bars and bent the barrier at an amusing angle.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

It sounds like you were lucky.  I was there at the end of August coming out of homebase at about 5ish in the afternoon when all of a sudden BANG and a kind of loud cracking/ruffling sound.  Turned around to see an LDV van wedged under the barrier.  One of those high ones that most double glazing vans are.  Was an older typre with a plastcy/fibreglass roof.  He ripped the front roof rails off and they were on the floor and sliced the top off all the way back along to around the rear axles when he came to a stop.  Only way he could get back out was to reverse and as he did he then got the front moulded part that deflects the wind caught and ripped that off as well.  The guy was only borrowing the van from work it sounded like as he was getting an earful, funny as hell to watch but in the end i felt quite sorry for him when i saw how much damage he had done!

Gotta be careful with my P38 though, I have the roof rails and unless I lower the vehicle to access mode it wont fit in Sol Centrals car park OR the Grovesnor centre one either.  Also had some trouble in London when I tried to use a multistory and thought I would be low enough with EAS on access only to find I cleared the barrier by about an inch, was the most nerve racking and slow (with angry drivers behind me) journey round that car park ever!

My mother has a 300tdi Disco, SHe parked in a multi storey in Cardiff. She had 5 people in the car including her, Going in was fine. Parked the car, all got out and with the weight out of the car it went up and popped the light tube above it!

I have marks on my CB aerials that are mounted on the wings so i go slow and see if they will fit under the height barrier if not i annoy the people behind and back up.. 8)  8)

My problem is the roof bars, well my inability to be bothered to remove them, they smack the barrier every day at work, just need to remember to take em off if I try to go in with the mud tyres and wheels on, 16" with Macho's I'm guessing will be a bit taller than the 15" alloys with AT's on..
