A lot of it is down to the auto bidding programs you can get if you dont set a low up limit it just keeps going up everytime someone bids on it.

Not always.  Sometime people get auction fever.  It happened to me when I sold off my darkroom gear, a lass in Scotland had set her heart on it and wouldn't be out bid.  The setup was worth about £150 (wet darkrooms equipment is dirt cheap now) but finally sold for £585 ..... and she told me that she had put in a proxy bid of £1k.  Shame it didn't go that high!

We had one the same as that, when we sold the rear seats from our old disco
Bids were about £110 then they bounced all the way up too £500!
They offered to pay via Western Union, claiming to send me a cheque for £2000 which i cash then send them the change.
Turns out it was a scam.
A Policeman who was watching my seats warned me about it and told me how it worked.
I declined their offer and sold them to the next highest bidder.
Be careful

I was watching it but I reckoned it was too high when I first found it
Don Barrow has them listed at £165.53 sensors are £29.07 - might be VAT on top but it doesn't say. The Brantz ones are the same price but look a lot better IMO

Well first I found this [Don Barrow is a Non-Vat Registered Company] and secondly the postage is only £9 - so that makes it pretty cheap

And I'd bet you'd buy a Brantz at the right price
