New to Freelanders - Help please.
« on: November 22, 2006, 16:33:22 »
Hi,
I'm new to Freelanders and am looking at buying a 5 door TDXDI, manual 97K miles on a 1999 V plate.
The current owner tells me the IRD and viscous coupling have recently been replaced, along with rear wheel bearings.
No tow bar, so it has not towed anything.
It is up for just over £5K.

Does it sound like a good buy?
Is the recent replacement of the IRD and VC anything to worry about?
Is there anything else expensive that I should look at before purchase?

Any advise greatfully recieved!

£5k is towards the top end of prices for a 99, but diesels are difficult to find and the 5 door models do fetch more than 3 door ones. And it is a late 99 I suppose.

Can't see any reason to worry about the replacement parts. It just means you have a good time before they go again!

Thanks Disco maniac,
Did not buy that one, think it was overpriced for what it was offering. Will look out for yours on the for sale board.
