HOWDY ALL, GOT ME SELF A TAD CONFUSED :-k

Am going to buy  swmbo a dvd of War of the worlds for a stocking filler for crimbo, Easy enough i thought    But now since i looked on @mazon n pl@y.com etc i am now very confused, Simply (if possible ?) she wants a dvd of the"original" war of the worlds,    But there seems quite a large choice, Ie - "the musical" "the stage show" and many others,   so what is the original version please ??

i watched it all at the nec and was blown away by it all ,my daughter has just bought me the stage version that came out a week or two ago (well it is my birthday)

i think the 1954 version is the best to get as i think the remake was rushed and bitty..plus the 54 version leaves more to the imagination

why not by your missus a copy of tripods ..that was a good series based on the same thing

Hi,

I burned a copy of the original one off the TV a couple of months ago - i could do a copy if you want - my girls thought it was brilliant, they laffed at all the "special effects" shouting "you can see the string" etc

methinks kids today are a bit picky

Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds from Sony is the one you want. There is a new remastered version around which is two CDS ina  white double case. This ios the one you are thinking of.

Theres also the new film, old film and the stage show to think about too. the Stage Show special Edition is the one thats being pushed like mad on TV at the moment.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
