I'm not sure they are the same spline are they? If not, you can't do it.

The spline is wrong but I hjave a copy of LRO Sept 2005 and a guy has fitted the same wheel but doesnt explain how he achieved it

Hmm. Was it on a similar age LR? It is possible that the Metro wheels look similar at different ages too.
Without re-machining the centre of the wheel, i can't imagine how it can be done.

I think the metro wheels only fit TDIs and non-station wagons.
Put simply they only fit steering column with this type of wheel
