Hello, how low
« on: December 09, 2006, 00:38:36 »
I had the radio on a couple of months ago and remember hearing a cover of Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'.  It was done in a sort of swing style and was done by someone who has been around for donkey's years - someone like Tony Bennett or Paul Anka, but I can't remember who it was.  He had just released an album of similar covers and I really liked the track they played on the radio.  As much as anything, I could actually make out what the words were and what the song was actually about

Does anyone know who it was as I really can't remember.  My husband has just bought a 'Best of' Nirvana album which he's got in his car, which reminded me of it.

(And before any one takes the mick out of my taste in music - I can listen to absolutely ANYTHING in the car, including yours!)

Not sure who it is but if you hear it again type 2580 into your mobile and then call it, hold the mobile to the speak and you'll get a text back with the name of the song and artist.

Or try Any Questions Answered on 63336.

Or after a look around try here http://www.aprilwinchell.com/multimedia/ there seem to be some covers including Paul Anka.

The ukellele playing in this clip is not quite so good but from 100m meters out or more the atmosphere of thousands of people singing a black sabeth song along to a ukellele is most serial. Pitty you can't hear the crowd/singing so well at the begining of this clip

We used to have a ukulele when I was a kid - I think it might have been my grandad's.  Can't remember what happened to it ...

I hate the rock swings album, i love swing but i think paul anka is too much of a lounge room singer and shouldnt be in the charts!!! lol
