« on: December 12, 2006, 16:08:59 »
Hi Guys,
As some of you are aware i bought a Disco rather cheap a few weeks ago and i decided instead of going all off roady i would go a bit posh..Not Chav or Pimp my ride but nice..
Still a few little mods left (new exhaust and clear lights) but thats it..what do you think...I know a few of you will say its needs springs and lift and wheels etc etc ..but i chose not to as sherman is all that and more  8)

Yes and also very illegal. My son has just had a run in with the local constabulary over the very same issue.

NO!!!! they will not fail a mot NO!! they are not to much past the arches..How do i know this!! because I have a MOT station at my place of work..How do i know they will pass a mot because it was the said workshop manager that fitted them for me..Would he of fitted them illegally NO because one we have a very large fleet to maintain with in the company which we have many ordits and stop checks by the relevant authorities on a regular basis so it wouldn't be worth his while loosing his job and 2 we also maintain the local AA fleet and transport police..So No they are not illegal in any way shape or form...
It annoys me when people start oh this aint right that is wrong..I find people are good at judging things they know very little about..

You say your son was stopped because of his wheels???
what was he driving? how old is he?
and what kind of driver is he..

His age and vehicle are the most likely reason he was stopped then a vehicle check if there interested in him..Or they have nothing better to do.

Anyway I' am off on me hols .....Fur King HO Ho HO

I agree with fingers our fleet is the largest in the country and believe me & him they won't pass anything or let anything illegal out on the roads.

and our customer base for servicing vehicles is extending :D .

:D   I like it, bet the three hundred and odd for the wheel adaptors stung a bit though (just had to get 4 spacers for my Porsche 944, that cost me 220 quid!!)  Looks spot on though (just need some Td5 headlights now like your big 'un!!!)

I like the wheels mate, I could do with some 18"s for the LSE as it chews tyres up pretty quick on 16" rims.  They are well nice :D

I was going to ask how yo got them to fit, but I see someone's ahead of me.  I was also wondering how they effected the track, but I'm not having a go, just wondering.  Very sensible/responsible to ask the advice of an MOT man before fitting them.  As I have a mate who's also a tester I'd have done the same.

The car looks very nice :D

Looks fab
Fancy some nice wheels on my 300TDi any tips?
What should I pay for the blacked out windows?
Its amasing how a few quid spent wisely can make a reasonable cheap car look fab, well done
Remember it will come in handy even if you never use it
