Can we have a "stupid question" topic pinned

Dear Mods,

for those of us who are quite new, can we have a "stupid questions" topic pinned.

I'll start with.....

I'm thinking of buying a steering guard with 8mm brackets (or 10 mm's) will that take the clearence down to below the bottom of the diffs?

Do all steering guards simply bolt on (currently looking at Rebel ones)?

I'm sure there are more.......I'll be back in a while !!!!

Dull and oxidised is how it's meant to look isn't it?   But seriously, shiny new plates on the front are a nightmare in bright sunlight.

And as TD90 says, the steering guard is only protecting the steering rod and damper. It doesn't get anywhere near the diff. The different bracket thickesses are purely a function of strength and how hard you will be battering them!
