I don't know about the month but they first came in in 1995 Gords.

Thinking about a new toy then?  :D

Problem is I'm not brave (rich) enough to go for a petrol one and I'm not sure if the 2.5 diesel is any good?!  :-k

So, tell me more!

air suspension - does that mean you can lift/lower the car?

tyres - what's standard, what's the largest that will fit without any mods?

common problems/things to look out for?

Land Rover launched the P38 in September 94..

As for suspension, yes it can be raised and lowered via the dashboard switch, it has a normal ride mode and after 30 seconds at 50mph it will drop to motorway ride hight -1"
You can also raise it up for off roading wading etc I think this is +2" but not sure never bothered to find out.

I'm told the 2.5 diesel is very under powered but I ha ve never driven the diesel mine's a 4.6  :lol:  :lol:

You could always covert to LPG if you got a petrol or buy one already done.


Go on buy one there fantastic, I love mine  :lol:

yes
265/70 16 ( i think) and how much money do you want to spend??
electrics - airsuspension, anything with a button attatched ;)

Gordon if you we complaining about the garage costs of repairing your 300 TDI, you had best take a second mortgage out. Especially if you have any electrical problems! I was discussing the technology of new landrovers and BMW's at surreyoffroaders pub meet and I could not believe how complicated vehicles have become, the electronics involved in 'canbus' systems,  and the control modules which receive and transfer signals into operations in the vehicle. It is easy enought to fix the mechanical stuff but the control units need to be re-programmed to sort out the glitches.

I would love one but could not afford the repair costs, if it did go wrong and I am a compentant mechanic, who has a good understanding of computer programming and use of measurement equipment oscilloscopes etc.


I am only saying this ss I know you have taken your 300tdi to a garage for simple things like wheel bearing changing.

The EAS can be re callibrated to do whatever you want it to with access to Rovacom, go on, ask me how I know :wink:

'Cos my soft dash RRC LSE has EAS and I fitted Arnott GIII air prings for up to 3" extra travel, so my high profile is 2 " higher than it was, my standard is 1" lower than it should be and my low profile is possitively obscene.  My rear sway bar is as thick as the front one, oh yes, and my V8 is very big :D
