I thought speed cameras could only clock up to about 150mph ish. Top gear did a test a few years ago. Speed cameras have improved alot in recent years then!!!

I wonder where the camera was as I go on holiday doing voluntary work around Newport in wales every year. Best be careful!!!

top gear's test was done with a gatso

dont think the news story specifes the camera used

but its probably a gatso and a printing error... although they probably nicked fuel from that new LNG pipeline running through south wales so it explains the speed ;)

if i remember right, the vehicle they used in topgear to shift at a speed too fast for the camera was quite rare to say the least! tvr i think

I remeber a few years ago a mate telling me that one, if you wanted to avoid setection you had to be going in excess of 160mph, then they got a picture of your shadow, 150 and you might be ok, 160 and you're fine.

yeah I thought, urban myth, 'till he said to one of my other mates "but don't try doing it on the road past your work or you'll leave the floor on that little bump"

Yeap, I think he had tried it.
