But I get the impression that the BBC wants us to think that 4x4s are dangerous.

So... let me get this straight... two incidents make national news... presumably because:

They were both serious?

Police are looking for witnesses to both?

Both drivers were ginger?

Hmmm... sensing another letter!

Complaint posted on their website:

As a driver of a 4x4 I am already under pressure from the green fringe, ably asisted by the BBC it would seem.

Despite a news editor admitting innaccurate labelling of news items with the term "4x4" here I find another example.

I find myself asking the following questions:
How many road traffic incidents occured in the same period in Wiltshire?
What percentage of this number do the two incidents mentioned in the story represent?
Why is it significant that the vehicles be identified as 4x4?

I continue to be disappointed by what appears to be the anti-4x4 campaign a publicly funded body seems to be taking. I have not seen any coverage of positive 4x4 stories on the BBC.

For instance, the work done recently on a number of green lanes by volunteers working with the Countryside Recreational Access Group (CRAG), or coverage of assistance provided around the country by 4x4 drivers, to motrorists affected by recent flooding, or for that matter coverage of the many volunteers providing standby all terrain transport to many of the countiy councils around the country.

Please ask your "journalists" to get out on a journey and start to deliver balanced reporting.

For all the good it'll do!
