If it aint broke, Keep fixing it!
« on: January 17, 2007, 14:28:04 »
Hey guys, I got a slight...well not a problem, YET, but Im worried it might be in the future.
So heres the story. I was changing the rear brakes on my Samurai and all went well. I put it in gear and drove it while it was jacked up (2wd ofcourse!) Put it in neutral, left the Engine running, and the wheels started spinning as if it was in gear!
My question to you guys is:
1) Should this be happening?
2) what would cause this?

Im no Mechanic, and thought you guys could help me out with this?

I'm sure this is normal, I remember having a mini that did the same thing, I could stop the whels by hand, However I'm no expert.
If want to walk it walk it, if you want to ride it ride it just leave me alone to drive it!

Yes, with no resistance (the ground!) the bearings will still drag the output shaft of the gearbox round. Shouldn't be a problem....... hopefully!

yeah, just drag thru the gears/bearings etc. as long as when U turn the motor off you can still spin the transmission by hand(ie its not locked up)
Go on....cut me in half........it says SUZUKI all the way thru the middle!!
