TAX and Trackers
« on: January 20, 2007, 19:17:26 »
Just had an E-mail from a friend with link below for No. 10 petitions, this one is for the proposed tracking and taxing by the government:

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/

Sign it and maybe we can do a bit to stop this gross F****** stupidity from actually happening.

(I know it is a crazy concept but it just might work)

:)  :) I've read a lot about this nightmarish proposal but thinking about it as it relates to me...I am retired and very really travel on motorways or A class roads...if ever I have too then it's after rush hours etc....having said that,if it comes in, then road tax will have to be abolished and fuel duty drastically reduced...on that basis I would be quids in at the end of the month and would be able to buy all the nice bolt on things for my vehicle.....bring it on Mr. Brown......

There was a report on ine of the newspaper sites (can't think which one) saying the government are going to ignore the petition despite over half a million signatures because something needs to be done about global warning and this is a step forward.

Nothing to do with the reported £98billiion in extra revenue per year it will generate then
I have two brains, one with marbles and one without.

Guess which one I'm using today.

:)  :) In fact, the more I sit and work it out the more in favour of this proposal I come...2 cars without having to pay the road tax would save me £380.00 per year and fuel at around 30 pence a litre would save me hundreds of £££s...I could be looking at a newer 4 x 4 vehicle...bring it on.................

Those trackers arent able to mounted on older vehicles, and if they do fit them, lets just say i will be purchasing a snorkel.

The thing is, if this did come in, would they take off fuel duty? Would we get 30p a litre diesel or would they maintain fuel duty to discourage people from driving and so save the planet.

I think it's a bit big brother so my names on there.

Swings and roundabouts, why do i have to pay more tax on my Disco, i only drive 10 miles to work a day, and mr mondeo driver who does 300 miles a day on the motorway pay less!! yet u know the government will not cut fuel tax!
