you're not the only one..... thankfully, i've never had anything stolen or broken into, but my parents have had numerous times.

im the same at night... slightest sound and i go and check... and our land rover is DIRECTLY outside our "bedroom" door!

Your problem is most theiving toerags rely on the false sense of security we have once in our homes, and tend to strike then.  Second faveourite is outside work.

I have CCTV now because I got fed up with kids letting my tyres down.

stuff like this has come right down in price now -

for what it costs it could be the difference between some little [person of questionable parentage] stealing your land rover/wheels/gps/whatever, or you going outside with your dog/baseball bat/maglite and kicking seven shades out of them.

our back garden has been a bit odd recently... reckon we've got someone snooping around (again) so i've got a wireless camera pointing down the drive at the moment. need to get a better one though really

I had a very funny (for me, not for him) experience with a would be car thief once. I was driving a mates P38 back to his after doing my parents airport run to see them off on holiday with the dog in the passenger seat footwell and the passenger window down halfway.

Parked up at the end of my friends driveway in Reading and went inside to grab my ciggies from upstairs. As I did, I looked out the upstairs window to see a lad of probably 18 or 19 walk past the Rangie, clock the window was down and decide to have a quick look inside.

Poor [!Expletive Deleted!] stuck his head through the window, not realising a dog (12 stone Alsation cross New New Foundland - think of an extra from the Hound of the Baskervilles on steroids) was peacefully asleep in the footwell.

Dog jumped up, hit the lad in the chest with both front paws, knocked him flying stright into me and my mate coming down the path who frog marched him to the end of the road and politely but firmly told him to leave before we told the dog how to open the door.

Rufus is better than any CCTV, alarm, immobilisier or clamp, never failed me yet
