also check rotar arm, mine did this the oter week, had spark from coil, nothing to plugs, rotar arm had failed, new one sorted it straight away.

if this is it, when you get one get some spares, its a common problem with how rotar arms are made these days apparently

I work in a garage type business; recently had lots of trouble with V8 rotor arms.  Including brand new spare that simply doesn't work at all - no visible problems or odd dimensions.  And another new part that starts bad and runs rough - again no visible arc marks, bubbles or out of spec sizes.  This was the brand that comes in yellow-and-blue boxes.  I think the insulator material is crap.

If you can track one down, the best bet seems to be one of the original Lucas marked parts, even a second hand one in good shape.

cheers,
Ross Kennedy

Also beware of pulling the guts out of the dizzy when removing your rotor arm. Mine was very tight and I should have held the spindle down with a screwdriver before pulling the arm off. A two minute job ended up taking over two hours.

I also find if the battery is at all flat, although mine will spin happikly it will not spark.  Check you have enough volts going tot he coil/ignition.
