read on here little bit ago about testing your prop u.j's by removeing one prob and drivein with diff lock on, if wobble goes away u know which prop it is...

question is how far can you drive with one prop and your diff lock on??

is it a quick test kinda thing, or are we talkin long enough for me to remove one, drive 20 miles to work then 20 miles home?

i drive for 70 miles like it!  and greenlaning!

wasnt gonna let a stupid thing like a snapped front prop spoil my day! :D

Drove mine the other week with only the front, but was also not happy to do too many miles  :wink:

Drove about 40 miles with the rear prop missing and I only have the viscous coupling.  Scary though, 2,100kg RRC LSE, FWD and a 5.0L V8 :shock:

Smoke them tyres :o

a quick test will tell you. i wouldnt drive too far on one prop if you can help it, as it just puts more strain on one prop/diff/axle rather than dividing it over the two of them.

dont nail it though, be gentle pulling off etc otherwise you'll risk doing the UJ's over on the prop thats still fitted!

a mate of mine drove from mid wales back to hampshire (about 4 and a half hours) on only one prop with diff lock in. no probs.

Or if you have a Rover diff on the rear axle, you can blow them if you floor it too much with the rear prop just fitted...  Of course, the diff probably would take it when new but how many are in superb condition now anyway?
