OK i have a smal problem. (the wife moans about it) When you slow down and break at a junction. Turning left (so you are turning slightly the ABS kicks in. You are hardly moving so not to big prob. Somtimes after this light on dash will come on and stay on. Also if you pull away slow it will not go out. But when tried out big time on ice worked fine. My idea is maybe gap is to big on one of sensors. If so how do i measure please.

if it is the air gap just give the top of the sensor a "hard"tap in to the hub it will adjust to the right airgap when you move off :)

Got mine backed off on purpose . . . I really think ABS can be dangerous in many situations off road. Air gap is too wide to kick the abs in so if I want it on I just switch the ignition off and on when rolling in a straight line at normal road speed . . . . sorted

Possibly a wiring fault or loose wheel bearing/CV bearing that's allowing the sensor to stop working momentarily, the ABS is trying to stop what it perceives as a skid and when it can't it sulks, hence the light.  DO the blink test to find out which corner and check all the wiring, bearings and air gap.

You can do the blink test without getting out of the car

is it a td5 ??

had major probs with abs on my td5

turned out to be a knackered n/s wheel bearing on front

simple check, is to whip out the abs sensor
mine had a grive worn in it from hitting the phonic wheel

you'll then have the joy of spending 160 odd quid on changing  a wheel bearing, parts only!!, robbing gets come to mind

OK took a long time but i have got round to it at last as fed up with wife moaning lol. ABS problem was a wheel bearing that needed tighting up. Reset memory with old blink test. All sorted and a quiet life.
P.S Had sligt problem on sunday out on green lane and ran out of track opps. Never mind now got two matching dents in rear back pannels. One from wife and a gate post and this one from sunday. See att pic.
